Chrome Extension

The Whisper Wall Chrome Extension operates entirely within your browser:

• 100% Client-Side Processing: All sensitive data detection and redaction happens locally in your browser. Your messages never leave your device for processing by our servers.
• No Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or have access to your messages, keystrokes, or any content you type into AI chatbots.
• No Analytics or Tracking: The extension does not include any analytics, telemetry, or tracking mechanisms.
• Local Storage Only: User preferences (enabled/disabled state, sensitivity settings, custom keywords) are stored locally using Chrome's storage API and never transmitted externally.
• No Remote Code: All extension code is bundled within the extension package. No code is fetched from external servers.

Web Application

If you use our web application (whisperwall.io):

• Account Information: If you create an account, we store your email address and hashed password for authentication purposes only.
• Payment Information: Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information.
• No Message Storage: Messages processed through the demo or enterprise features are not permanently stored or logged for marketing purposes.

Permissions Justification

The Chrome extension requests the following permissions for these specific purposes:

• activeTab: To access the current tab only when you interact with the extension on supported AI chatbot websites.
• Host Permissions: To detect and protect input fields specifically on AI chatbot platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.).
• Storage: To save your preferences locally on your device.
• Scripting: To inject content scripts that intercept and sanitize messages before they're sent to AI services.

Data Sharing

We do NOT:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Share your data with advertisers
• Use your data for AI training
• Transmit your message content to our servers

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect any information we do handle (such as account credentials for our web application). All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
